Come di consueto da sette anni a questa parte, al Globe di Londra si sono svolti i Prog Award, premiazione organizzata dalla rivista prog e che permette agli utenti di votare in sette delle quindici categorie tramite il sito della rivista. L’evento è stato trasmesso in streaming sulla pagina facebook ufficiale.

Asso pigliatutto di questa edizione è stato Steven Wilson, che ha battuto la concorrenza dei Leprous nella categoria Album of the Year, vincendo col suo To The Bone contro Malina, nonchè dei lanciatissimi TesseracT nella categoria UK artist of the Year. Sorpresa i Midas Fall vincitori di Limelight, categoria che racchiude nuove band alla ribalta, contro i The Black Orchestra, i Ghost Community e la bella Myrkur. Sorpresa la PFM nella categoria International Artist of the Year, viste le recensioni miste di Emotional Tattoos (ecco qui la nostra), così come Like Orpheus dei The Orphaned Land che ha vinto il premio Video of The Year. Già annunciato Steve Howe degli Yes nella categoria Prog God. Meritatissimo riconoscimento come Outstanding Contribution a Gary Brooker dei Procol Harum, così come Lifetime Achievment ai Caravan, pietra miliare del prog dei gloriosi ’70.
